Lauren Greenstreets Family History

For my project I learned a lot about my family. I never knew my great grandma and my Grandpa both died from cancer. Knowing they both died from cancer maybe i should be a little worried because it is in my family genes! Anyways I loved this project because of all of the new things I learned!

Reflecting on the comments and grade of your stop-motion animation... what you would do differently if you had to do it all over again? Would you manage your time better? Find better lighting for your photos? Come up with a better idea? Explain what you would change about your video.

Reflecting on my comments and grade I would do my lighting better because it was kind of dole. Also, I would have done my translations smoother so it looked better. I also think I would have made everything into a story instead of having some random stuff pop up. I think overall it was a bit to long so maybe I shouldn't do as much, but I think it was pretty cool and very time consuming.

Tell me about your weekend.

This weekend was pretty laid back and I didn't do every much. On Saturday, I got my nails done with my friend and then went shopping with my mom and sister. I got a new sweater and scarf, and also got some new boots. Also, on Saturday night, I went over to my neighbors house and babysat their two kids. I think this weekend was kind of boring and I wish I did more things.

Tell me about your experience with taking your stop-motion photos. What problems did you run in to? What did you find difficult about the process? What would you go back and change about HOW you took the photos? Explain yourself.

When taking my pictures, it was very difficult and time consuming. I think it was difficult to move the M&M's every picture and make it perfect. I wouldn't have changed how I took the pictures because it was a good and steady angle the whole time because I set my iPad on the table with the camera looking down. It was a good contraption that I set up, the only thing difficult was moving the M&M's over and over.

What is your idea for the stop motion animation project? How is it creative? How are you going to execute your idea?

For my stop motion animation project, I am doing a story with M&M's. I think this is an original idea because a lot of people wouldn't do it because it was hard, or because it would take a lot of time and effort. I am going to find a way to have my camera look downward at the M&M's so it will be still and be looking at it from a downward view. I am hoping to start my story as a plant growing and soon move into the sky. I am still brainstorming on how to set up my designs. I am hoping to have a really creative and cool idea.

What is stop motion animation? If you don't know, look it up! Explain.

Stop Motion Animation is a technique people use on pictures to make it look like the static objects are in  motion. When you put the pictures in order it looks in motion. When you make a movie with animations, you have to make them walk. You do this by taking pictures of them every step by you moving them. By the time you take all the pictures and put them in a fast motion, it looks real.

5 Frame Storyboard

November 5, 2014

Tell me about your idea for your 5 frame story board. What is the plot? How do you plan to make the story creative? Who's the main character? What is the beginning, middle and end? Tell me about your plan of attack.

For my five frame story board, my sister is the main character. I wanted to make it creative by having it be funny and to have everyone enjoy it, instead of it being boring and no one is interested. My story starts off as my sister is walking down the stairs. I then take a picture of my foot about to tough her back, and then I kick her down the stairs. Finally, the end is her laying at the bottom of the stairs.

Yesterday you edited and uploaded photos to your blog. Tell me more about your photos. HOW did you edit them? Why did you choose the photos that you did? Explain your assignment.

Yesterday, I edited ten different photos that I took for my project. I picked five out of the 15 I took. I chose the ones I did because I think it shows a lot of different color values and have multiple designs. I edited my pictures by making them more vibrant and I was tying to make them stand out more. I think the after picture is way cooler than the first because the colors pop out more.

Tell me about your weekend! Share Pic!:)

This weekend I had a lot of fun. On Sunday, I went to the chiefs game. We tailgated and ate breakfast with our friends. After awhile, we finally went into the field. While walking in, it was chaos. When we first sat down at our seats, they were throwing shirts, and  he threw one right toward me! Then, right before halftime I was on the big screen. They had a win against the New York Jets. I cant wait to go to another game next year!

What do you know about photography and/or photo editing? Do you take photos? How do you take photos? Do you edit photos before posting them on social media? How do you edit them? Explain any background or knowledge you have about photography and photo editing. Do you like it? Do you have any interest?

I love to take pictures. I usually take pictures on my phone or my moms camera. Before I post them on social media, I usually edit them to make them look more vibrant. My knowledge for editing is not very high, all I know is to not make the picture look fake. I love taking pictures, and I would love to learn more about how to make them look more high quality. I am excited next year to take a photography class and learn a lot more on how to take pictures.

This weekend The Freshman A1 team played in a sophomore volleyball tournament. This was our last tournament of the year. We came in second, and beat our own schools sophomore team. Our champion ship game was super close, but we couldn't pull ahead. After the tournament some of the players went to Jose Peppers and had dinner then we got together afterwards. This weekend was really fun, and i am going to miss the volleyball season.

Below is a letter written to the editor who wrote the article 'Enforcement of dress code creates negative effect' that your blogged about last week. Most of you wrote on your blog that you agreed with the writer. What are your thoughts after reading the letter below and seeing a different perspective. Are they the same? Are the different? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

I think that teachers are just trying to help everyone focus, but I think we should be aloud to wear whatever we want as long as it doesn't show to much. I do agree that the students shouldn't wear spaghetti straps or wear shorts that show half our butt, but if we do I don't think we should get yelled at, I think they should ask us politely to wear something different the next day. I think the students will wear what they are comfortable in as long as it is not to showy.

Classes that would help you in life would be: Cooking, Survival, a class on how to spend your money. These classes would help me get through life because they are everything you need to survive. I would study ways to live without anyone else helping you, and making food on my own. I would spend my class time trying to understand how everything works so I can have a successful future. These classes would be a lot different than the ones I am taking now because the things I am learning now will not help me in my future. They wont help me on how to cook, or how to live alone. They would be super different.

The following article was in the September issue of The Tiger Print. Read the article (even if you already have) and respond to it below. What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Consider all perspectives of the article while you respond.

This article explains a lot of true statistics about our school and the culture. I think that girls should be able to wear whatever they feel comfortable in, and feel happy in. If they want guys to like them because of their body, so be it. Guys need to be more mature, and understand that having a girlfriend isn't about them having a nice body. I think that teachers should stop yelling at girls in the hallway just because their shoulders are showing, or because you can see to much of their thigh. Girls should have as much freedom as the guys have. Teachers have to understand they they were once a high school student too, and your clothes is the thing that you can express your personality with; but if you get yelled at for it, it's not fair. I think that girls should be able to wear whatever kind of clothes they like and not get yelled at for it. Just know, they are just expressing their personality. If we had to wear uniforms, we wouldn't know what kind of personality a person had until you talked to them. By seeing what someone is wearing can help you tell what kind of person that is and if you would want to talk to them or not, not having a uniform helps you determined what kind of person you re talking to.

Tell me about your weekend! If you don't have anything fun to share, tell me about the city you live in. What do you love about Kansas City? Do you have a favorite place in the city? Favorite team? :) Favorite event? Explain.

This weekend I had a volleyball tournament. We played at Shawnee Mission South High School on Saturday. We had a lot of tough teams that we played. Finally, we won, we got first place. Our team was so excited that we defeated all the teams we played. At the end of the tournament, we went to sonic to celebrate our victory. After my volleyball tournament, I went to see the new movie Annebelle with two of my friends. It was a really scary movie, and I recommend it if you like scary movies. This weekend was super fun, and I can't wait untell next weekend.

What is an infographic? If you don't know, go look it up. Read about it and then in your own words tell me what an infographic is. What do infographics do? How do they work? What makes a really good infographic?

Infographic is a visual image that is a diagram or chart that represents information of data. They are easier to understand and people use them because they go faster. It shows how something can change over time and the pattern it does. A good infographic focus on one topic and has a lot of good information. They work because you look at them and you can read information faster.

Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!

This weekend, I didn't attend homecoming. I didn't go because there was a lot of people and I couldn't find a good dress. Saturday night, I was with my friend and we went to dinner and got our nails done. I had a lot of fun with her because we don't get to hangout a lot. After we came back to her house after we went to dinner, we went to surprise Mary right before her date came over because we knew she was really nervous. When we got to her house, she was so excited to see us. She was so happy we came to support her. Although I didn't go to homecoming, I had a fun time with my friend.

Imagine Mr. Bacon has asked you to suggest one way of improving Blue Valley High School to make it a better place for students. Think about the changes that are needed at your school. Pick one change you feel would really make a difference and explain what it is and why you'd make the change.

I think an improvement we could accomplish for Blue Valley High School to make it a better place is a student tracker. When a student isn't in class, you can see where that person is. It would make a difference because every student would get a better education and do better in class. When someone is missing you know where they will be so you will know if they are ditching, or just with another teacher. I think this will be a huge part of making our school a better, safer place for students and parents.
